ThisisRnB Presents: The Top 20 R&B Albums of 2014

By

Faith Evans Incomparable

#10. Faith Evans – ‘Incomparable’

In 1998, she told us to Keep The Faith, and in 2014, we see why. Faith Evans – who has over 20 years of time vested in the industry – reminded us why they call her “The First Lady.” Delivering her sixth studio album, Incomparable, Faith made sure to give it to us good this time around.

Serving as the follow-up to 2010’s Something About Faith, the new album was another step in the line of consistently delivering stellar material. Calling on “R&B Divas” cast mate Keke Wyatt to combine vocals with on the sultry and sexy single “Make Love,” and taking it back to the days of Soul with “He Is,” Faith’s ability to continuously bless the industry with her undeniable talent was proven yet again on this album.

Also adding in tracks like “Really Wanna Do,” “Incomparable,” and “Ever Go Away,” Faith’s self-produced album is one that takes you back to the true essence of R&B and reminds you just why you fell in love with the genre. Mixing old school sounds with the new moderate R&B that has made its way into the forefront of the industry, Incomparable’s, tracklisting solidified the reason behind the title to the album. – K.P.

I liked Mariah’s album as well. I’m still shocked that not to many people got to hear it. Dave Hollister and Johnny Gill and Dave Hollister’s albums were also pretty decent.

D’Angelo definitely had my favorite album last year.

Chris Brown & August Alsina had some good albums too but that’s about it. I hope Badu and Soulchild come with some heat this year.
